Cherry Love!!

These are the cherries we plucked, yum yum!!

To those of you who are not familiar with cherry picking concept:
Farms open up some of their cherry tree and people can come, pluck and buy those cherries. There are peaches, apricot, raspberry and many other farms who open up during the month of May.

When you and all in your family is up, out and about early morning on a lazy Sunday you know its got to be cherries and fun!!

Our recent visit to Brentwood's Peas Farm was amazing. We started off early and spotted some good trees(all thanks to Mr SimplyxStylish).
After few jumps and cherry pulls I was able to snatch a ladder and hopped on it and I swear didnt wanted to leave but we had already grabbed too much for us to finish.

Kairi Panha

A very famous summer drink in Maharashtra as its Mango season. Mangoes do not need introduction in India, they are rich, aromatic & flavourful.

This is a very simple recipe

Ingredients:

1-2 Raw mango(Kairi)
Sugar(8-10 spoons or as desired)
Mint Leaves(optional)
1/2 tbsp Cumin (Jeera)
Asafoetida (Hing)
Salt to taste
Black salt(pinch)
Water 1-2 tbsp

Directions:
1) I prefer to wash-peel the mango before steaming it(less mess) if you want you can steam and peel of the skin.
2) Let mango cool down, squeeze the pulp add sugar, salt, cumin, asafoetida, black salt.
3) Give it a pulse to incorporate, add water and mint leaves to add flavor as well as color

and your Kairi Panha is ready.

Hope you like this simple and easy recipe. Enjoy!!

*P.s Stay tuned for some Cherry Picking coming soon on the blog!!

Mom's Birthday

Since it was Mother's day last Sunday let me begin my post with my mom birthday celebrations.

It was my mom's birthday a week back and as a norm in my house I baked a cake, this was a simple classic piece so I used some of my creativity and pinterest to decorate this cake quickly(you really cannot do too much when a tod is clinging on your leg, every moms story).

Regarding clothes, I purchased this skirt when I was 71/2 months preggo, so never got a chance to wear it that time and had no idea how my post-partum body would be like so kept it packed in my closet.

I am lucky my body is almost back to what I was before pregnancy and could wear this skirt :)

This lace shell was a hurry buy from LOFT outlet as my kid and hubby watched me standing at the corner of the store.

The beautiful necklace I am wearing is my recent purchase from FOREVER21 and the one my mom is wearing is from CSGems.

Hope y'all enjoyed our look and this mouth watering cake too!!
